Monster Truck Fun

Here is some vocabulary that you will need to know when you go to the Monster Trucks. (Remember to bring your earplugs!)

BigFoot

Auger In: Crash

Bite: Traction

Burn Out / Dry Hop: Spin truck tires to clear mud off and gain traction

Donut: When a truck spins circles in one spot on the floor

Endo: When a vehicle crashes and rolls end over end

Free-styling: Trucks are given an open floor to perform stunts for fans, who serve as judges. Stunts usually consist of crushing every type of huge vehicle, from ambulances to airplanes.

Good Hookin' Clay: Track dirt that makes it easy for the tires to dig in.

Hole Shot: First vehicle out of the gate

Black Widow

Hook Up: Dig tires in and take off fast from starting line

Monster Jam: Thousands of screaming fans rooting for the mass destruction of several vehicles.

Monster Trucks: The mammoth creatures, which cost up to $250,000 take beatings that make a round-the-clock crew and eight sets of tires a year necessary. Built-in roll cages and harnesses protect the drivers during stunts.

Power Out: When a driver uses a burst of acceleration to keep the truck from rolling over

Roll Over: When a truck rolls over side ways (as opposed to an ENDO)

Side-by-side: Trucks actually race each other, usually over piles of crushed cars.

T-bone: Hitting another monster truck at a perpendicular angle.
